# Brilliant Lady Sails Into LA With Expanded Wellness Programming for Her West Coast Debut *By James Hills — Updated April 2026* Written by: [James Hills](https://cruisewestcoast.com/james-hills.html) Published: 03 April 2026 Last Updated: 03 April 2026 Hot!Hits: 718Reading time: 01:54 Brilliant Lady docks in Los Angeles on April 6 after a 16-night repositioning through the Panama Canal, and she's not arriving quietly. Virgin Voyages' newest ship — purpose-built with open-air fitness spaces designed for cruising Alaska and the Mexican Riviera — is bringing a fresh wellness lineup that feels less like a cruise ship gym and more like your favorite boutique studio decided to go to sea. For anyone who still pictures cruising as buffet lines and shuffleboard, this is the antidote. Brilliant Lady was designed from the hull up to open more spaces to the ocean, giving cruisers room to keep their fitness routine going even while sailing through glacier-carved fjords or along the Baja coast. The West Coast is finally getting a ship that matches how people here actually live. ## Radiance: The Morning Ritual Several times per voyage, the Aquatic Club transforms into a sunrise wellness experience called Radiance — part morning rave, part guided reset. Sailors move through breathwork and stretching into a full dance set, all through wireless headphones. It's a genuinely different way to start a sea day, and we can say from experience that the Aquatic Club is one of the best spaces on any Virgin ship for this kind of programming. ## Eight Themed Vibe Rides The cycling studio is launching eight 45-minute themed rides, each with its own curated playlist and aesthetic. Coachella is festival euphoria with Billie Eilish and Swedish House Mafia. Celebrity Bootcamp is pure intensity with Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar. Hollywood Heartbreak is Adele and Taylor Swift for emotional release in all black. Decade Wars pits the '80s against the '90s — leg warmers or flannel, you pick. All eight rides are included in every fare and bookable through the app. ## Recovery Fuel, Not Just Juice Juice Sea on Deck 7 has been expanded with a dedicated protein smoothie menu built around specific fitness goals — muscle building, endurance, bulking, cutting — with full macronutrient transparency on every blend. They've also added GLP-1 friendly high-protein smoothies for travelers managing medications alongside their wellness goals. This isn't just a younger cruiser thing — men and women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s who prioritize fitness and want to maintain their routine at sea are exactly who this is built for. ## What's Next: LA, Then Alaska Brilliant Lady's West Coast season opens with the LA MerMaiden, a five-night roundtrip from LA hitting Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Ensenada from April 7-12. She'll sail California coast itineraries through May before [heading north to Seattle for Virgin Voyages' Alaska season](https://ads.flowmediamarketing.com/i/flow_voyages_cruise?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.virginvoyages.com%2Fbook%2Fvoyage-planner%2Ffind-a-voyage%3FagentId%3D20843%26agencyId%3D422%26currencyCode%3DUSD&title=Book+A+Virgin+Voyages+Cruise&merchant=Virgin+Voyages&merchant_short=Virgin&site_name=CruiseWestCoast.com) — and if this wellness programming is any indication, those glacier mornings with Radiance are going to be something special. --- ***Thanks for reading.
